J+Med on Madison (Tomonori Nakagama MD, PLLC) was established in July of 2017, with a mission to serve the unique needs of the Japanese expat community in New York. A former expat himself, Tomonori Nakagama, MD began his journey in New York in September of 2010 with a vision to ultimately establish his own private practice. With the July 1, 2023 opening of our brand new facility on Madison Avenue and 49th Street, he has done just that. Our pledge is to continue to provide meticulous care for all and to integrate multiple specialties, including family medicine, urgent care, preventive care, musculoskeletal care and acupuncture.

Dr. Miyoko Onishi is a board-certified pediatrician who provides primary care to children of all ages with a special expertise in developmental psychology. Born and raised in Tokyo. Graduated from Keio University. Received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from University of California at Santa Cruz. Completed a medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine and a residency in pediatrics at SUNY Downstate medical center. Currently practicing at Tribeca Pediatrics in NYC. Joined J+Med on Madison to support Japanese families on Saturdays. |

Hiroyuki Tada, FNP-C
Board Certified, Family Nurse Practitioner
| Based in Atlanta, GA and currently practicing at Southeast Medical Group, Hiroyuki has over 9 years of experience in urgent care and primary care. Born in Fukui, Japan, Hiroyuki completed his undergraduate degree at Tokyo Gakugei University. Soon after graduating, he volunteered as a member of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers in Rwanda in 1992-1993, Vanuatu in 1997 and Tonga in 2001-2003. He moved to the US in 2003 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in nursing from Kennesaw University and Master of Science in nursing from Augusta University in GA. Hiroyuki enjoys playing rugby and traveling. |

| Peggy is NATA board certified in athletic training and received her Master’s degree from Oregon State University at Corvallis. She completed her internship with Division I collegiate sports teams (football, soccer, softball, and track and field) and provided care and rehabilitation plans for acute and/or chronic injured athletes. She also interned in the orthopedic department at Kaohsiung Medical University Affiliated Hospital in Taiwan, where she assisted with patient education regarding post-operation care and home exercises. In addition to targeting restoration of function and conditioning from injuries, she also emphasizes the importance of prevention through conditioning and self-care education. | |

Worked at numerous schools, home programs and counseling centers, including as a counselor at the Japanese Educational Center in Greenwich, CT and head teacher at the Keswell School, NY. Naoko enjoys working closely with the parents and family of children of all age groups from toddlers to school-aged children with various developmental and emotional/psychological needs. |

Yu Kaneko, LAc

| (Also available on the premises) Yu is NCCAOM board certified in acupuncture and completed his Master’s in Oriental Medicine at Samra University in Los Angeles. He has been practicing over 20 years in New York City and Los Angeles, integrating multiple styles including traditional Chinese and Japanese meridian to provide relief for both acute and chronic internal to musculoskeletal conditions, be they resulting from sedentary to active lifestyles. His approach is non-judgmental and holistic, addressing both the manifestation and the underlying conditions. |
